SpoQUEEN is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering young women through the transformative art of spoken word. We teach spoken word as a powerful tool for self-expression, healing, and empowerment. Our workshops focus on building confidence, self-love, self-worth, and self respect.
SpoQUEEN works directly with middle and high school girls during and after school, providing a supportive environment where they can discover and harness the strength of their voices.

Gboea Flumo, founder of SpoQUEEN, embodies resilience, grace, and determination. A Liberian native, she relocated to the U.S. at the age of two to escape civil war, growing up in Washington D.C. in a single-parent household with her father and brother. Without a mother or female role model during her formative years, Gboea understands the challenges young girls face without proper guidance and support. She was fortunate to later be surrounded by strong women in her life, but recognizes that many girls aren’t as lucky. SpoQUEEN was founded to bridge that gap—providing mentorship, empowerment, and support to help young women realize their full potential. Through mentoring, Gboea offers hope, love, and the tools for success, ensuring each girl is equipped to thrive as the queen she was born to be.
